Organize the mailing list
It is very important that when you collect all the emails,
you should gathered them in a single file of emails list. So that you should
know about all your subscribers. You need to create a file in MS Excel, and
export it in text or CSCV file as required by Mailing client.
Convert your Excell sheet into text file using the save as
command. This save as command can be found by clicking on MS office button and
in drop down menu click on save as. After that select the type to text file or
csv file.
Formatting emails:
If you are dealing with your old email list than you are
wrong because every year 22.5 % emails goes to close or deactivated. So you
should clean your old email list by checking them. Remove the emails that are
closed. Remove the bad emails.
Validation:
Validation is the most important part of email marketing
because you are going to move yourself away from spammer or blacklisted. If you
are using the Mailchimp or Aweber than you do not need to worry. But believe me
if you have got millions of email address. Than you need these steps before
launching any email campaigns.
Opt-in
An opt-in policy requires a potential
customer to self-select the services they wish to subscribe to, and
how any information they provide may be used. It is also referred as permission-based
marketing.
Opt-out
An opt-out policy through which a customer can
unsubscribe through the link attached in the email.
Should you email people that never signed up nor
have done business with you and tell them they can unsubscribe if they don’t
want to hear from you? The answer is NO.
As I personally don’t recommend you to start
building an e-relationship by force-feeding recipients you’re messaging and
telling them they can opt out or unsubscribe. By doing it the right way, your
brand will be protected.
